Harmony of Self-giving

Civilization has very many aspects of collectivity. In principle it must have all the life-aspects. A course for Ph.D. or post doctoral studies can give thought to the coordinating functions of those aspects. Coordination is a process of reconciliation whose immense value is seen when The Life Divine employs it as an appearance of an argument. It speaks of reconciliation at the levels of cosmic and transcendent consciousness. Even in the first chapter it abundantly uses that argument. Later it is called Wisdom. It is later extended to differentiation as the central process. This coordination collects inhuman consciousness as subconscious organization. For a final level of study for scholars of international repute a course can be devised collecting from the Internet ALL its known aspects in their evolutionary expression. If you consider VISA or one of the new ‘institutions’ like Facebook, this study will reveal its profundity and the creative power. At lesser levels of Ph.D., M.A., their components and their functions can be organised as a course. In these academic exercises the Harmony of Self-Giving and the Violence of Selfish possessiveness will emerge in full relief. At its positive great height, even a simple act of good will has incalculable powers, as bringing Pemberley in exchange of Longbourn or giving a Prime Minister her lost job. At its other end that violence can deprive a Man of his life for the simple crime of having generously helped. One who is dynamically successful in these concepts of evolutionary expansiveness can find at every single point of transition the ego readily surviving in a more refined form. In fact, that ego has no such sophisticated culture. It is crude, violently insistent and boorishly proud of its exhibitionism. Goodness has no pass of entry there. Non-reaction is the beginning. To render hypocritical social politics and psychologically sincere is the next step. These are the psychological territories where one can see in another these naked expressions. Whether one who can perceive them in himself is born on earth is not known. The greatest known receptivity is to receive without கிராக்கி giraki. Gratitude is not yet born in human relationships.
Man proposing to himself self-giving will find everything inside in revolt. Even in occasions where gratitude demands such acts are powerfully resisted. If done, it becomes Kireet’s present. In rare occasions they become dry formalities that are offensive. Tata is not capable of even that formality. But life, as it does elsewhere, acts through even these events. Rising to international fame is not enough to acquire such courtesies. If a course in Shamelessness is devised with Wickham as the impudent hero, about a hundred characters will make it real. The real benefit is for the person who creates the course to know the depths of human nature in his own சுபாவா swabhava. The traffic experiment in a rich country revealed its depth. Considering the positive aspects leads us to a future where it has to be created.

Personally the one thing it does without fail is to render a Man blind to cultural values of human goodness. In the many novels of Trollope this aspect of Money at home is vividly brought out with the one exception of Lady Lufton. Life becomes a culture of Money and its direct offshoot scarcely seen is the privacy. In one novel a son refuses to receive monetary help from the father who comes forward to pay off his debts to prevent bankruptcy. Self, as we know, does not give. Self that gives is spiritual. Sincerity, Gratitude are not qualities Man can develop beyond the level he is born with. To do so is almost yoga. Yoga is barred to those who are NOT sincere. Human GOODNESS today is Social goodness. Society is based on falsehood, violence, cruelty, darkness and evil. The best of Men, looking inside to transform themselves, will find all these in full revolt. Still, to think of HIM or Mother is to deny them existence inside. To move towards them is to violently destroy them a little. Sri Aurobindo speaks against destruction. To HIM transformation alone is permissible. It can be achieved only by one’s own surrender. Surrender is possible only in the measure sincerity is available. To recognize their absence in us will invite their reaction. To keep quiet will help them grow. To accept their reality without reaction will reveal the significance of a spouse, children, or their spouse. To accept their reality in our life is knowledge of yoga.
